Take Your Health To The Next Level. Discover The Secrets of Herbal Remedies and How Effectively It Can Improve Your Life
Herbal-ism, also referred to as herbology and herbal medicine, is a method for treating diseases that dates from long before Christ. It includes the use of different plants and mixtures on a natural foundations that can change our bodies’ chemistry in a favorable way. This is, in fact, the way doctors treated diseases for most of human history and such traditional medicine has just recently started to make its comeback nowadays.
Herbalism is considered by modern medicine in the section of “alternative medicine”, as it is considered that it is not based on scientific proof. This is a relatively biased statement, as a very big part of the modern pharmaceutical production is based on herbal foundation. Many compounds derived from plants are used for drugs and phototherapy, as they have a direct link with the human body and its functions.
Believe it or not, fungal and bee products are also part of herbal-ism and as you will see in this book they have a very important role in many remedies and homemade recipes.

This book has 6 chapters plus an introduction and a conclusion. The Table of Contents is integrated but only as far as the chapters. It doesn't take you to the individual herbs listed in the book. There's no index of the herbs anywhere in the book either.Chapter 1 is general information. (In the TOC under Chapter 1: General Information, there's another heading titled "General Information" which also takes you to Chapter 1.)
Chapter 2 is titled "How it works" but this chapter doesn't really tell you anything at all about how herbal medicine actually works. This chapter is more about how long herbal medicine has been around with a sentence or two comparing herbal remedies to modern pharmaceuticals.
Chapter 3 is "Remedies for arthritis, joint problems, muscle disorders....."
The second paragraph says, "So what are the symptoms? They are most usually gout, fibromyalgia and lupus. Despite the type of arthritis, the pain is always inevitable,...." Yes she jumped from "symptoms" to "type" without ever explaining the symptoms. (gout, fibromyalgia and lupus are "types" of arthritis not symptoms)
The first remedy in this chapter is "Cat's Claw tincture." I'm not sure why she chose a "tincture" because she doesn't say how to make the tincture and Cat's Claw comes in many forms including capsules and tea. What really bothers me about this herb is the fact that she makes no mention whatsoever of the dangers of using it, the possible side effects nor the fact that it shouldn't be used when taking certain medications. This is an herb that hasn't been widely studied and therefore, isn't recommended for children. Side effects can range from headaches and dizziness to diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. Cat's claw is known to lower blood pressure so people taking blood pressure medication shouldn't use it. It may cause miscarriage so pregnant women shouldn't take it. People with autoimmune diseases, skin grafts, tuberculosis, or those receiving organ transplants should not use cat's claw because of its possible effects on the immune system. People with leukemia or low blood pressure should not take cat's claw. People with kidney or liver disease should not use cat's claw without first asking their doctor.
The second remedy is birch bark tea. Again there are no "contraindications" listed. Birch Bark has the same active ingredient as aspirin so people who are hypersensitive to aspirin shouldn't drink birch bark tea. People who are taking blood thinners should consult their doctor before drinking birch bark tea.
She lists two topical remedies using cayenne pepper and it isn't until the very last paragraph in the second remedy that she mentions the fact that cayenne can be irritating to the skin. You need to test for sensitivity "before" you use either remedy. Her directions for making the second cayenne remedy were a bit convoluted. At one point she says to "Add the wax and melt it in the microwave beforehand." So should the wax be melted "before" its added or do you add it and microwave the whole mixture before you use it?
Chapter 4 is "How to treat colds"
Andrographis is the first herb listed and once again, the possible side effects are not listed (loss of appetite, headache, running nose, rash, diarrhea, vomiting, and fatigue) nor are there any contraindications listed. (People taking blood pressure medication or autoimmune medication shouldn't use andrographis.) She also doesn't mention the fact that when used in high doses or long-term, andrographis might cause swollen lymph glands, serious allergic reactions, elevations of liver enzymes, and other side effects. At this point, I stopped reading herbal remedies and jumped to Chapter 5.
Chapter 5 "Some Tips"
She talks about how chocolate can benefit your health. "Here we are talking about dark, natural chocolate, preferably around 90% and 2-3 pieces per day." 90% what? I'm assuming she meant 90% "cacao" but she never says it. The recommended amount of chocolate for health benefits is actually very small, not 2-3 pieces a day. According to German research, 1/2 to 1 square of a regular sized candy bar per day is all you need to benefit your health.
Chapter 6 "General recipes, information about herbs and advice
Some of the more common herbs are talked about in this section and for these she actually provides some resource information for her material. (finally!) There 14 miscellaneous herbs mentioned and most of them include a color photo which is nice, however, there are no actual recipes to be found. (The title of the chapter does say "general recipes".) There are links provided that take you to "anniesremedy.com" and that site explains how to use the various herbs.
Overall, I think this book needs a lot of work. Chapter 6 is the only chapter really worth reading but without an integrated index for the herbs, you have to scroll through them one by one, When you do find one you're interested in, most of the information is in the form of links to websites so you might as well save yourself some time and money and go straight to the web.

Natural Remedies Herb that Cure Sickness Improve Health and Fight Disease edition by Anita Garcia Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews
Very useful information
I received them on time great seller
I THINK IT WILL COME IN VERY HANDY .WITH HEALTH CARE AND TIMES ARE A CHANGING .
Going back to some of the old ways, less energy used, less hormones & antibiotics.
Don't waste your time. Describes older adults as senile, I think the author meant senior. There are plenty more examples that require a proof reading.
)
I have always thought that the natural herbs are totally ineffective for treating any symptoms and conditions. But this book has opened my eyes to various home remedies that actually only consist of natural herbs and medicines. I love it and the fact that the remedies here are all organic and natural.
