Tanner Bennet has never had warm fuzzy feelings where weddings are concerned. Katelyn Medford has been struggling to get her event planning business off the ground, but when she gets a panicked call from Lovey Armstrong, the fiancée of Chicago Aces captain Marc Dupuis, following her wedding planner leaving her high and dry, Katelyn's luck may be changing.

Katelyn is working with Lovey to determine all of the details, but she gets the shock of her life when she meets the groomsmen and comes face to face with the man that broke her heart eight years prior. Tanner is just as effected by seeing Katelyn again because the last thing he wanted to do all those years ago was leave her behind and break her heart.

Will both Katelyn and Tanner be able to overcome the heartache of the past to reconnect? Will they be able to move forward together or will they once again be torn apart by circumstances they don't have control over?

Kelly Jamieson did a fantastic job with this book and it is a terrific addition to the Aces stable. I can't wait for the next one in the series!

Back Check is the 4th book in the Aces Hockey Series by Kelly Jamieson. Tanner is a defenseman for the Chicago Aces who is standing up to his friend and fellow teammate's wedding. Tanner has an aversion to weddings especially with his family background and his own personal experience, but he is there to support his buddy even though he doesn't believe in love.

Katelyn is a woman who believes in love and happy ever after, except she has been engaged three times and left all of them before the big day. The only man she ever truly loved was Tanner back in college, but eight years earlier he left her to follow his dreams of being a professional hockey player and broke her heart.

Katelyn is an event planner and is planning a wedding for a couple whose husband just happens to be a hockey player, and a teammate of Tanner's. When they have a meeting with the bridesmaids and groomsmen, Katelyn and Tanner meet again after 8 years. Katelyn appears unaffected and all business while Tanner can't stop looking at her and the old feelings start to surface.

This is a great sports romance between two people who never really got over their first love.

Kelly Jamieson is an author who writes great contemporary romance stories and this book is no exception. I really enjoyed this story of second chance romance and I know that you will too.

Tanner's story was one I was waiting for and I was not disappointed. His background for not believing that marriages can last makes his present feelings very realistic. I found myself falling in love with him right away.

Katelyn was a mystery to me at first. I think it was because the past, why she wouldn't go with him was a mystery and I was afraid it would be the typical, why do I have to follow you and give up all I have or my parents didn't want me to go...that I was really happy at the different spin to her reasons.

I love how their relationship builds again...how they both realize that those feelings haven't gone away...that the relationships they've been in haven't worked because they were still in love with each other.

I don't want to give away the story with any spoilers but I will say this. The author does an exceptional job on their relationship. The ups and downs are original to this story, as well as them getting their HEA.

This is one of my favorite series and I have to say, this is my favorite book in that series to date. I loved every page, every moment as their relationship progressed. This is a book that I will be purchasing when it comes out so that I can read it over and over. I highly recommend it.
