Seriously--because Ms. Palmer and/or her Publisher actually offers her Kindle versions at a reasonable price now and then (unlike so many other Best-Selling Authors). This Feral Warrior series is well worth reading if you like Shifter Paranormal Romances. Please note that you will not appreciate the World Building or the intriguing characters as much if you haven't read the previous books. The author builds upon plot situations and personalities in every installment of her series.

This book highlights one of the new Shifters, Fox. The romance between Fox and Melisande is satisfying (once the reader discovers the reasons why the woman has been so difficult in past books) and nicely resolved by the end. This is the norm in most of Palmer's books.

Several other characters (both old and new) are featured in this novel, and the ongoing fight against the Mages continues. The Warriors were not very successful in this conflict due to the need to find and rescue their Radiant, Kara, from the enemy. This book has taken a little different turn than her previous books, and I must say that I find it rather interesting. Can't say that this one is my favorite of the series, but I did enjoy it. The writing is excellent, as usual. I continue to love the hunky Shifters, and enjoy it when they find their Mates.

I'm a big fan and will continue with the series.

I enjoy this series a lot however some of the scenes were a bit much for me personally as I have endured some similiar trauma and I was triggered so to speak and had a panick attack. But no worries, it was healing I much needed for my personal growth. Can't wait for the next book. Thank you for the opportunity for deeper healing.
I started this series some time ago and always get a thrill when I see a new book is in the making. I have always pre-ordered so that i can get it hot off the press. But this story and the previous two books, lack the heat and feel of the first books. I hope the author gets her mojo back, because she is running out of charaters and I don't like feeling like I just wasted $$$$.
I have read all the books in this series and I have enjoyed them alot. While the other books I would be happy to give a 4 or 5 star to, there is just something missing in this one. I am not sure what it is but there is something missing. The other books I did not put down until I had finished reading them, even if it ment staying up all night, and if usually did. This book took me several days to read, I am not sure why. As readers you know what I am talking about, some books set on the bedside table for weeks others never leave our hand until the last word is read.
Out of all the series I read, and I read a ton, this one is definitely a series I'd love see hit the big screen. The action scenes would be epic with the strides Hollywood has achieved in special effects.

In this tale, the Feral Warriors are on the hunt to reclaim their stolen Radiant. Fox and Mel, both determined not to fall in love, do in fact fall hard for each other. They tried to deny their feelings, more her than him, but when you find your mate... your heart can't help but open up.

Their first love scene was sweet and heart-breaking. The one following it was passionate. Would I recommend this story to others? Hell yeah!
While the previous books in the series have been somewhat graphic and gritty, this installment unexpectedly crossed a couple of lines for me that had I been forewarned may have changed my decision to read this one.

First, the repeated recounting, in detail, of a female character's rape and torture. But that's not the worst thing...

Second, and most unpalatable, the graphic depiction of an innocent human child viciously stripped to her underpants and sliced open force someone's compliance. Screaming and crying out in terror as the blood ran down her chest until it soaked the blue butterflies on her underpants turning them purple. And if you think it sounds bad here, imagine what it sounded like in context when written as skillfully as Ms. Palmer is able to do. If "necessary" to prove the depth of bad in the bad guys, kidnapping, frightening, and imprisoning a child are all despicable but effective ways to communicate the point. I couldn't believe the author actually felt the need to take it to such an extreme.

Overall, this book read more like a springboard into a new series than a progression of the existing series. Many "revelations" were made, allowing for explanation as to why we now need to follow this new path. This installment did little to advance any current plot lines and moved the focus away from contemporary shifter and firmly into, "reach for a doorknob and it disappears from under your hand" territory - over and over and over again. Caves, wall torches, castles and labyrinths, you name it and its in here. Possibly a good thing for pure supernatural fantasy readers, unfortunate for us contemporary shifter fans who have been faithfully following this series throughout all of the previous books.

And as noted by another reviewer, there is virtually no romance. just a few uncomfortable stolen moments. The key players seem more like vehicles to bring forth the new plot direction and tie up loose ends than an individual pair we're invested in.

I gave this book 3 stars, which are all in favor of Ms. Palmer's considerable writing talent. Had my review been based solely on my opinion of the unnecessary shock elements as I mentioned previously, or the contribution of the story to the rest of the series it would have been a 1.

I'm holding out a little hope that this was an aberration and that the next book will get back on track. But if this is the "new" Feral Warriors, I'm done.
